The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms, plus basic facts about your device and how you found us.
- To see your Income Check results, you give us your first name, phone number and email.
- After our call, if you want to meet a specialist, we share your details with one licensed specialist in your state. We never sell your information to lead lists. We never pass you to more than one specialist.
- To measure our ads, we send Meta (Facebook and Instagram) a scrambled (hashed) copy of your contact details. We don’t send your answers about age, savings or timing.
- We never ask for Social Security numbers, account numbers or passwords.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your information at any time.
What we collect
If you use the Income Check
- Your answers: your savings range, age range, state, and when you want income to start.
- Contact details: your first name, phone number and email. Phone and email are required to see your results.
- Your consent: a record that you checked the consent box, with the exact words you agreed to.
- Your results: the income range we showed you, and whether your answers fit what our specialists serve.
- If you book a call: the date and time you pick and your time zone.
If you’re an advisor applying to Money Neighbor for Advisors
- Your application: name, email, mobile number, firm, the states you’re licensed in, what you sell, your production and capacity, and how you work.
- If you book an Advisor Growth Diagnostic: the date and time you pick and your time zone.
Automatically, from everyone
- The ad or link that brought you here (for example the campaign name and Facebook’s click ID).
- Standard technical information: IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view.
- This is collected through cookies, the Meta pixel and our own server. See Ads and measurement.
How we use it
- To work out and show your Income Check results.
- To call or text you about your results, and to set up a free call with our team.
- If it’s a fit after that call, and you want to, to introduce you to one specialist.
- To send your results, booking confirmations and reminders, and a few plain-English follow-up emails about retirement income. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- For advisors: to review your application, decide whether we’re a fit, and set up your diagnostic call.
- To measure which ads work, so we spend less showing ads to people who don’t want them.
- To keep the site secure and to meet our legal obligations.
Booking a call
When you book a call, our scheduling system stores your name, email, phone number and the time you chose, and adds the call to our calendar. We send you a confirmation and reminders by email or text message.
A Retirement Income Review is a phone call with our team. If you then meet a specialist, that meeting is usually on Zoom. Advisor Growth Diagnostics are on Zoom too. Zoom’s own privacy policy covers video meetings. If a call is recorded, we tell you at the start, and you can ask us not to record it. We use recordings only to confirm what was discussed and to improve our service.
If no time works, we’ll text or call you to find one.
Ads and measurement
The Meta pixel and the Conversions API
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are owned by Meta. To learn which ads lead to real requests, we tell Meta when someone views our pages, starts or finishes the Income Check, applies as an advisor, or books a call. We send this two ways: through the Meta pixel in your browser, and from our server through Meta’s Conversions API.
With the steps where you’ve given us contact details, we include your email, phone number, name and state (and zip code, if you gave one). These are scrambled (hashed) before they leave our server, so Meta receives coded values rather than your plain email or phone number. Meta uses them to match the event to an account and to measure and improve our ads. We also send the Meta browser cookies (_fbp and _fbc), your IP address and your browser type.
We don’t send your answers about age, savings or timing, or anything from an advisor’s application beyond contact details. Some steps are only reported when the answers fit what our specialists serve, so Meta can tell that a step happened. Meta handles what it receives under its own privacy policy.
Optional analytics
We may also use an advertising analytics service that records page visits and form submissions to tell us which ads lead to booked calls. When it’s turned on, it sets its own cookies and receives the same kinds of information as the Meta pixel. It does not receive your answers about age, savings or timing.
Who we share it with
- One specialist, only if you want to meet one. If, after our call, you want to meet a specialist, we share your contact details and Income Check answers with one licensed insurance professional or financial advisor in your state. Specialists may pay us a fee for the introduction. Here’s exactly how we make money.
- Retirees we introduce to an advisor receive that advisor’s name, firm and contact details.
- Service providers who run the site and our calls for us: web hosting and form storage, scheduling, email and text messaging, and video meetings. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
- Meta and, if it’s turned on, our analytics service, as described above.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
- A buyer or successor, if Money Neighbor is sold or merged. This policy would still apply to what we already have.
We do not sell your information to lead buyers or data brokers. We never share your details with more than one specialist.
Calls and texts
We call or text you only if you give us your number and agree to be contacted, using the consent box on the Income Check. Your consent covers Money Neighbor and one licensed insurance professional in your state, the one we introduce you to. Consent is never required to buy anything. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or email us at the address below.
Your choices
- See, correct or delete what we hold about you: email privacy@moneyneighbor.com. We respond within 30 days.
- Stop calls, texts or emails at any time: reply STOP, use the unsubscribe link, or email us.
- Limit ad tracking: block third-party cookies in your browser, and adjust your ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account.
- Some states give their residents extra privacy rights. We honor these requests from everyone, wherever you live.
How long we keep it
We keep Income Check entries, advisor applications and booking records for up to 3 years. We keep them for less if you ask us to delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
Security, children and changes
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, which is one reason we never ask for account numbers or Social Security numbers.
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on this page before it takes effect.
